Cape-Verdian Justice Minister Expected On Thursday

The Cape Verdian minister for Justice and Internal Administration, Cristina Fontes Lima, is expected, here, on Thursday, to participate on July 26 to 29 in the first meeting of the coordinating committee of the project "Indicative Programme of Support to the African Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (PALOP)" justice system, (PIR/PALOP Project).

Cristina Lima will also have working meetings with the Angolan Interior minister, Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem, as informed by the Cape-Verdian News Agency (InforPress) released in that country',s embassy in Angola. The PIR/PALOP meeting will touch on subjects linked to the execution of the referred programme as well as approve working plans, aiming at creating conditions to start implementing the projects as from September.

Economic growth in Cape Verde has been somewhat greater than expected. The Cape Verdean government is encouraged by this growth to go ahead with economic reforms. The value-added tax (VAT) finally is to be introduced this month.
