| The director of the French Foreign Ministry’s African and Middle East Department, ambassador Stéphane Gompertz, will begin a work visit to Cape Verde today, April 26.
Among the highlights on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs official’s agenda is cooperation between the two countries, with a special reference to the special partnership and the partnership for mobility between Cape Verde and the European Union. According to the Cape Verdean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gompertz’s visit comes “within the framework of the reinforcement of political dialogue between the two countries, which is substantiated in the adaptation and diversification of bilateral relations of economic and financial cooperation for development,” as well as “in analysis and coordination on issues of mutual interest on the regional African, European and international planes.” During his stay in Cape Verde, Gompertz will hold work meetings with a Cape Verdean Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation headed by the National Director for Political Affairs and Cooperation, José Luís Rocha, as well as the collective of the ambassadors from the EU and member states accredited in Praia. Stéphane Gompertz will also meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs José Brito. |
