According to the Portuguese press, many tourists who had purchased tickets to travel to Mexico on vacation have decided to change their plans, with Cape Verde being one of the most sought-after alternatives. Travel agencies operating charter flights from Portugal have decided to suspend their flights to Mexico at least until the end of May. According to Portuguese newspaper Diário de Leiria, Portuguese tourist market leader Abreu is offering Cape Verde, Brazil and the Dominican Republic as alternatives for those tourists who had already purchased packages for Mexico. The newspaper Setubalense also reports that many travelers who had Mexico as their destination have changed their plans. Travel agencies Marsans and Oásis point to Cape Verde as one of the most sought-after alternatives for these tourists. |
