Portuguese airport and sir security company ANA announced this week that the work group formed to make an air connection between the Portuguese city of Beja and Cape Verde a reality is “putting the finishing touches on the process.” The beginning of operations is scheduled to take place before the end of the month.

TACV’s first flight leaving from Beja airport in Portugal will have the island of Fogo as its final destination. The connection, scheduled to take place during the Easter holiday, will depart Beja on April 14 and return on April 21.

“The idea emerged within the context of the sister-city program between Ferreira do Alentejo and São Filipe, on the island of Fogo, and has institutional and business objectives, for the establishment of business dealings between the two territories,” according to an ANA communiqué.
