With the arrival of the rainy season, the years first cases of malaria have begun to appear in Praia. Last week, at least five individuals were admitted to Agostinho Neto Hospital with malaria, with one death having been registered so far, of cerebral malaria. The Praia Health Department Delegation is advising the population to take preventative measures to avoid mosquito bites. |

| A mission from the Association Echanges France Cap-Vert made up of health professionals, young people and a fireman is currently on the island of Boa Vista. The doctors in the delegation have been providing the population with checkups, while the fireman has administered courses for local fishermen in order to better prepare them for work on the seas. |
