Cape Verdean soccer player Lito may not renew his contract with Portuguese team Académica de Coimbra after all, as he allegedly has received a better offer from a first-division club in Saudi Arabia. According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Lito has received a "highly advantageous" offer, and will as a result reject the proposal to renew his contract with Académica de Coimbra. The club reportedly offered the 34-year-old player a two-season contract with a monthly salary of €6,000. His decision is expected to be officially communicated to Académica de Coimbra before the end of the week, according to Record. The Cape Verdean athlete was the teams best scorer this season, with six goals in 30 games. Some two weeks ago, Lito told Portuguese news agency Lusa that he intended to stay at Académica for another two years. |
